The joint working group of the Energy Regulatory Commission and Ulaanbaatar Electricity Distribution Network JSC is conducting inspections in response to consumer complaints. As of March 11, 2025:

          A consumer residing in Songinokhairkhan District requested verification of their electricity consumption. The detached house has a floor area of 100 m² and operates a 12 kW electric heater with a temperature sensor continuously, 24 hours a day. It was found that the household’s electricity consumption had tripled compared to the same period of the previous year.

          During an on-site inspection, energy efficiency auditors measured the building’s thermal performance and identified significant heat loss through the walls and roof junctions. The auditors advised the consumer on methods to reduce heat loss and informed them that it is possible to lower their electricity consumption by up to 50 percent.
