Energy Auditors Receive Their Certificatess

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), in cooperation with the School of Energy Engineering of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, successfully organized a regular training program for energy auditors. Upon successfully completing a two-stage examination process, certificates were awarded to 24 qualified industrial energy auditors, including 15 electricity auditors and 9 thermal energy auditors.

As of today, a total of 113 licensed energy auditors are providing energy audit services nationwide in Mongolia across the industrial and building sectors, comprising 49 electricity auditors, 27 thermal energy auditors, and 37 building energy auditors. In addition, 15 accredited energy auditing organizations are operating in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

Within the framework of ensuring the implementation of the Law on Energy Conservation, energy auditors are required to uphold legal compliance and ethical standards, provide objective, accurate, and professional recommendations for energy conservation and efficient energy use, maintain strict confidentiality of client information, and operate independently and impartially.

As of January 2026, a total of 226 enterprises and organizations with high energy consumption have been registered as “designated consumers” under the Law on Energy Conservation. These entities are required to conduct regular energy audits within the timeframes stipulated by law. Compliance with this requirement enables organizations to reduce inefficient energy use, improve productivity in production and service delivery, lower operational costs, and ultimately enhance their economic competitiveness.
