We have successfully concluded our participation in a professional training program focused on researching regulatory policies and experiences of the US Energy Regulatory Commissions, as well as holding meetings and studying experiences in the field of further cooperation development. This program was carried out in cooperation with Abt Associates and the National Association of Energy Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) under the Mongolian Energy Governance Program of the USAID project.
E. Tuvshinchuluun, the chairman of the Energy Regulatory Commission, along with Commissioner P. Tovuudorj, and L. Jambaa, the chief deputy party of Abt Associates' Energy Management Program, as well as head of the cooperation division B. Chimedregzen, participated in meetings with the Energy Resources Bureau of the US State Department and the National Association of Energy Regulatory Commissioners.
As part of the training and program, meetings were conducted with approximately 20 organizations, which included the Energy Regulatory Commissions of Massachusetts, Vermont, and Washington, D.C., as well as the Department of Energy Resources of the State of Massachusetts, the Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR), and representatives from transmission and distribution companies in the aforementioned states.
During the conference, many topics related to the energy sector were successfully discussed and explored, including the direction of organizations involved in the energy industry, financing for renewable energy projects, promotion of energy efficiency, distributed generation, energy storage technologies, optimal energy pricing policies, and the participation of these organizations in global efforts to address climate change. The conference provided a successful platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences among participants, and contributed significantly to the development of the energy sector.
As a result of the program, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the National Association of Energy Regulatory Utility Commissions (NARUC) in the United States within the framework of the "Regulatory Partnership", with the aim of further collaboration in organizing various types of training and events to strengthen the capacity of the Energy Regulatory Commission staff and to exchange knowledge on energy regulation practices.
