A meeting was held with representatives of the World Bank to discuss energy sector reform and further cooperation.

          In a recent meeting with representatives from the World Bank and Energy Regulatory Commission participants engaged in a comprehensive discussion on energy sector reform and tariff reform, as well as future collaborative efforts in this domain.

           Attendees included Taehyun Lee, the World Bank's Country Manager and Resident Representative in Mongolia; Yanqin Song, Senior Energy Specialist; Jie Tang, the World Bank's Asia-Pacific Senior Energy Manager; and Shaodang Wang, the leading energy specialist.

        The delegates expressed their appreciation for the unified stance of the Government of Mongolia and the Energy Regulatory Commission, and the readiness to undertake significant steps at this turning point for the energy sector. Ms. Taehyun Lee emphasized that energy sector reform should not be limited to a one-time tariff reform issue, but should be a coordinated comprehensive measure involving experts from many other fields and organizations with foreign cooperation.

           The World Bank underscored the necessity of enhancing the quality of energy supply alongside the implementation of price and tariff reforms.

         The World Bank reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing and future projects in this area, pledging continued support for initiatives aimed at advancing energy sector improvements.
