The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will implement the "Mongolia Energy Governance" program in 2022-2027. This program aims to support the deepening of the reform of Mongolia's energy sector and to improve governance.
To ensure effective implementation of the program, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, N. Tavinbekh, the Chairman of the Energy Regulatory Commission, E. Tuvshinchuluun, and the Director of the Program, Michael Ellis, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on September 30, 2022. Additionally, the Energy Regulatory Commission and Abt Associates Inc., the program's implementing partner, confirmed the "Action Plan" to be implemented from 2022-2027 within the framework of the program.
The MoU outlines 16 joint activities that will be implemented as part of the program, including improving the energy regulatory environment, promoting energy saving and efficiency, and building capacity for human resources. The goal of the program is to bring practical results to Mongolia's energy sector and to cooperate efficiently in achieving its objectives.
