Within our country's insurance market, energy-saving insurance is a relatively recent addition. In October 2022, it was registered under the name "Insurance for Energy Saving Contracts" by the decision of the Financial Regulatory Commission. This insurance is designed to enhance trust and minimize risk. Under this arrangement, the insurance company compensates for the shortfall in energy savings if the customer, obligated to conserve energy, falls short of the estimated savings outlined in the contract.

       This insurance was funded by Khas Bank in collaboration with the Global Climate Green Fund, and consulting services to do relevant basic research were offered by the Swiss company BASE (Basel Agency For Sustainable Energy), a partner of the United Nations Development Program. 

        The public introduction of energy-saving contract liability insurance was organized in collaboration with Khas Bank and Tenger Insurance Company. Over 120 attendees, including representatives from the Energy Regulatory Commission, Financial Regulatory Commission, and 60 companies actively engaged in energy conservation efforts, participated in the event. They received information about this insurance type, learned about its benefits, and engaged in discussions and exchanges of opinions.

        The introduction of this insurance product in the market opens avenues for its utilization in Eco-purchases to generate financing sources. It can also play a vital role in international cooperation, projects, and programs related to green development in the energy sector, facilitating the transition to low-carbon emissions green energy. This is poised to make a substantial contribution to the advancement of the energy system.
